John Crimber will not compete in the Professional Bull Riders season-opener due to a nasty groin injury. His bruise is gnarly.

As a result, the 20-year-old is not listed on the preliminary matchups for the ‘Bulls and Beats’ even in Fort Collins.

These kinds of injuries, while not uncommon in bull riding, vary in terms of severity. Crimber cannot ride through the pain.

Who is John Crimber?

As the son of PBR Hall of Famer Paulo Crimber, John Crimber is widely viewed as the future of Professional Bull Riding. Although he is only 20 years old, he is already one of the greatest bull riders of all-time. The Texas-native became the youngest rider in PBR history to surpass $1 million in career earnings and finished No. 2 in the world at the age of 18.

His accomplishments speak for themselves. Crimber was named as the PBR Teams MVP in both his rookie and sophomore seasons as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. He most recently won the 2026 World Championship as an individual.

Not only does he have the skill, Crimber has an electrifying personality. The fans absolutely love him, which is reflected by his more than 800,000 Instagram followers. It’s not hard to see why.

If Crimber is able to stay on this current trajectory, he will undoubtedly go down as the GOAT. So long as he can stay healthy!

A nasty groin injury left a gnarly bruise.

The 2026 PBR Teams season is set to get underway in Fort Collins, Colorado on Saturday. It is so cool to see the football stadium at Colorado State will transform into a bull riding arena.

Unfortunately, the Florida Freedom will be without its biggest star. John Crimber suffered a groin injury at the Greely Stampede when he was bucked off by Sharp Dressed Man. He tried to limp out of the arena but ultimately had to be helped off the dirt.

Crimber had to pull out of the PRCA’s Cowboy Christmas event earlier this month.

He is also unable to compete in PBR. Professional Bull Riders shared the first look at Crimber’s injury, which left a gnarly bruise.

Uhhhh yeah, that looks painful. Crimber is unable to ride a bull in his current condition.
