John Harbaugh was fully prepared to throw hands with Rams defensive back John Johnson III on Sunday afternoon. The 61-year-old head coach wanted all the smoke!

It all went down after a violent hit on Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers. Johnson picked him up and dropped him along the sideline, WWE-style, after the officials had blown the whistle.

Harbaugh was not caught up in the ensuing scuffle, but got involved anyway. He did not like how Johnson took Flowers to the ground. Not one bit!

As Johnson returned to his feet and chirped at Flowers, the official tried to deescalate the situation before it got ugly. Harbaugh decided to intervene.

He came flying in from the other side of the play to get right up in Johnson’s face.

Harbaugh had a few choice words for the Rams safety. He even stuck a finger in his face like a disapproving parent!

Johnson was not the only one who got a talking to. Harbaugh got on the official as well, with questions about the lack of late hit penalty.

Flowers was a bit gimpy after the funky tackle. Fortunately, he walked it off and did not miss any time.

There is nothing better than an NFL coach who is fully prepared to go to war for his players. In that moment, the only thing on Harbaugh’s mind was his guy. Flowers walked away from the scene before it turned ugly, so his head coach got his back. That’s awesome!

John Harbaugh is known to be a player’s coach and Sunday was the perfect example. He went out of his way to make sure that Johnson was properly chastised for a clear dirty tackle. It was surprising that the officiating crew decided to let it go, because it absolutely should’ve been flagged!
