Baltimore Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh is one of the most respected head coaches in the NFL. The longtime head coach could end up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame when his career is all said and done.
But, he’s been known to have some strange challenges at times. Thursday night’s game against the Bengals was no different, as he used a challenge on a short pass, wasting a timeout for the Ravens.
The Ravens have a huge divisional game on Thursday night against the Bengals. Early in the game, the Bengals drove down the field and scored a touchdown on their first drive. But, there was a bit of controversy early on the drive on this play.
What an AWFUL challenge…What was Harbaugh thinking??
It was a 2-yard gain 🤦♂️pic.twitter.com/CM4T1JoHg1

First off, that’s clearly a completed pass. Second, even if wasn’t, it was for just a couple of yards and not for a first down or anything. That’s just not worth the potential of losing a timeout if you get it wrong.
People were confused as to why the play was challenged, to say the least.
Please remember this silly challenge from Harbaugh the next time you are upset about a McDermott challenge. Harbaugh, in Year 17, is now 3 for his last 14 challenges since the start of 2022.

Classic John Harbaugh to challenge a catch that gained two yards and is probably a catch

Harbaugh in year 17 burned a challenge and timeout in the first 5 minutes just to result in a bengals TD lmaooo

After 17 years, John Harbaugh should know better, honestly.
