Johnny Manziel Has Reportedly Been Traded In The CFL

The Johnny Manziel era with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats is officially over. Today, the Tiger-Cats traded away the former NFL QB to the 1-4 Montreal Alouettes in a multiple player trade that included some future first round picks.

“Johnny Manziel to Montreal is a done deal,” Forde tweeted Sunday evening at around 6:45 p.m. ET. “Expect an announcement shortly.”

Dave Naylor, also of TSN, said offensive linemen Tony Washington and Landon Rice are joining Manziel going to Montreal, while the Als are giving up defensive end Jamaal Westerman, receiver Chris Williams and two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021.

Manziel has not played a down with the Tigercats this season as the team as stuck with Jeremiah Masoli as their starting quarterback. This trade bodes well for Johnny who is looking get in some playing time to show NFL teams that he’s ready for a comeback.
