Former UFC fighter Jon Jones has weighed in on the viral body camera footage of Dustin Poirier getting arrested at the Atlanta Airport. In the video, Poirier said the N-word and challenged a police officer to a fight.
Dustin Poirier, also a former UFC fighter, was taken into custody on Sunday after an incident at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in which he allegedly became disruptive after being denied boarding a Delta Air Lines flight.
Atlanta Police Department officers were called to Delta Gate D36 at approximately 4:50 p.m. on June 21 in response to reports of an intoxicated passenger who had been refused entry onto Delta Flight 1295.

Footage of Poirier’s arrest went massively viral on social media, leading Jon Jones to weigh in.
“Wanted to write and tell my n—- Justin [sic] Poirier to keep your head up, life happens. This too shall pass. Just keep yourself busy my man, it helps,” Jones tweeted.
Jones also said that Poirier has an “N-word pass” because he said it “so smooth.”
“Absolutely. Said that s— so smooth. I literally took zero offense. 😂” he replied to a fan who asked if Porier has an ‘N word pass.’

After his arrest, Poirier was taken to the Clayton County Jail and charged with public intoxication.
Poirier fought in the UFC from 2011 to 2025, finishing his career as one of the most decorated lightweights in the promotion’s history. He won the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in 2019, challenged for the undisputed title three times, and is widely considered to be one of the greatest lightweights in the history of the competition.
