Jon Jones walked into the heavyweight division after taking three years off from fighting and earned the belt like it was nothing.

After making it look easy, former champion Francis Ngannou sent a message to Jones and the GOAT didn’t take to it too lightly.

Immediately after Jon Jones won the belt, Ngannou tweeted out a congratulations. However, he called himself the heavyweight king.

During the postfight interview, Jones was asked about his thoughts on Francis Ngannou’s tweet. The new heavyweight champ didn’t hold back at all and hit Ngannout with an insult.

Those are truly fighting words. Unfortunately, Francis Ngannou didn’t re-sign with the UFC, so it’s hard to imagine we’ll ever see these two scrap.

Jon Jones clearly wasn’t a fan of the tweet. Especially considering he’s the new heavyweight champion in the UFC. On top of that, they can’t even fight each other in the cage due to Ngannou’s contract situation.

So, Jones isn’t going to let the former champion continue to call himself the king of the division. Especially when Ngannou isn’t even there to fight for the title.

We’re bound to hear these two go back and forth for some time. Hopefully, one day they actually do get to meet in the cage, even if it’s a long shot at this point.
