Notre Dame wide receiver Jordan Faison made quite the impression during his debut as a midfielder for Notre Dame lacrosse earlier this week. The haters said that it was impossible to play both sports at a high level in the modern era.

They are wrong!!

Faison, a former two-star college football recruit, joined the Fighting Irish as a walk-on. However, he was thrust into action after the wide receiver room was decimated by injuries and saw his first action against Louisville on Oct. 7, 2023.

His first-career reception was a 12-yard gain to convert a third down. His second was a 36-yard touchdown from Sam Hartman.

Faison was on ~25% scholarship with the lacrosse program prior to the strong debut. From that point forward, Marcus Freeman put him a full scholarship with the football team.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound speedster made 19 catches for 322 yards and four touchdowns during his freshman year. He was named MVP of the Sun Bowl after posting his first 100-yard receiving day with five catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Jordan Faison began the year on scout team and finished the year as a crucial piece of the offense moving forward. It was a remarkable rise!

To make it even cooler, as soon as the year ended, Faison picked up his lacrosse stick and joined Kevin Corrigan’s program for preseason practice. He is set to play a prominent role for the Fighting Irish as a highly-coveted recruit.

The Fighting Irish got its season underway earlier this week with a 25-3 win over Cleveland State.

Jordan Faison found the net three times!

It was the most goals scored by a Notre Dame midfielder in a collegiate debut since at least 2000!

Needless to say, Faison is an athlete β€” a two-sport athlete β€” and both programs are glad to have him. He’s going to leave a lasting legacy in South Bend!
