Colby Covington aims to return to the UFC relatively soon. However, many fighters on the roster don’t like Dana White’s idea of giving him an immediate title shot.

Multiple fighters have voiced their displeasure. Now, as you could imagine, Jorge Masvidal weighs in on the rumors.

According to MMA Junkies, Masvidal doesn’t understand how or why Covington deserves a title shot. In fact, “Gamebred” threatens to sue the UFC if Colby Covington is given a shot at the welterweight belt.

The reason Jore Masvidal goes to these lengths is due to the current legal battle he has going on with Covington. He explains his reasonings in full detail.

“I currently have three felonies because this b**** Colby says I gave him a brain injury, so how the f*** is he going to fight for any title, is what I want to know.”

“The UFC is going to get sued if that guy goes in there and something like that happens. Because supposedly, allegedly because I didn’t do s***, he says I gave him a brain injury. I didn’t do s*** to him.”

As of now, the next title contender for the welterweight belt is undetermined. Leon Edwards just defended the belt and a new contender has not been named yet.

Even so, Dana White has been adamant about Colby Covington being next in line, despite the fact he hasn’t fought since the alleged incident with Jorge Masvidal.

“Gamebred” currently faces two felonies for “aggravated battery and criminal mischief. A third felony of committing a felony while wearing a mask has been dropped by the court,” per MMA Junkie.

Jorge Masvidal is set to face off against Gilbert Burns on Saturday, April 8. Many UFC fans believe the winner of this matchup should be next in line for the welterweight belt.

We’ll see how it plays out though, as Dana White seems more interested in giving that shot to Colby Covington.
