What Aaron Rodgers is doing — or rather, what he’s *not* doing — has been the talk of the sports world in recent weeks, as the 40-year-old New York Jets quarterback bailed on mandatory minicamp for an as yet undisclosed and unexcused “important” event.

The takes about Aaron Rodgers’ absence have been far and wide: some don’t think it’s a big deal, others think it’s a disaster — some blame Rodgers, others blame the Jets.

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman certainly made it clear who he thinks is at fault, as he told Colin Cowherd that, as the Jets “leader,” it’s a “bad look” for Rodgers.

“I think it’s a bad look for your leader, for whatever reason, to go and miss an unexcused absence,” Edelman said while appearing on The Herd with Colin Cowherd.

“I was with Tom Brady in [one of his last seasons], and he started missing OTAs here and there, but he was still there [and] never missed a mandatory minicamp. I just thought it was a bad look.”

This isn’t the first time that Rodgers’ behavior and/or personality has prompted negative comparisons to Tom Brady, as Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud made similar comments about the pair of Hall of Fame QBs earlier in the offseason.

“I’ve talked to Tom Brady about this because he’s a good mentor to me. What he told me is his teammates, and how he treats his teammates. And that’s where I think it falls off,” Stroud said of Rodgers (prior to the mandatory minicamp fiasco).

“We don’t know how Aaron Rodgers treats his teammates, but you can guarantee that Tom Brady treats his teammates right because how he got those rings.”

Despite all of the speculation about where he was or is, Rodgers has yet to comment publicly on the minicamp situation, nor has he revealed where he went. Some unconfirmed reports indicate he went on another ayahuasca retreat.

The Jets are set to begin training camp in late July, which Rodgers will certainly be at unless the spirits from beyond convince him to retire, or whatever.
