Yesterday the worst kept secret in baseball became official, the Los Angeles Dodgers had traded for Manny Machado by giving away the farm (five prospects). In the first half of the MLB season, Manny’s been hitting .315 with 24 HRs, 65 RBIs, 8 SBs, and a WAR of 2.9.
He was the biggest name on the trading block all season and by landing him the Dodgers just became World Series favorites (in theory). The Dodgers were *THIS CLOSE* to winning the World Series last year before losing Game 7 to the Houston Astros and this acquisition of Manny Machado makes them a stronger team than last year.
While on a short vacation for the All-Star Break, 3rd Baseman Justin Turner was chilling on a boat when he got the text notification that the Dodgers had officially landed Machado. Justin’s wife happened to have the camera running when her husband found out the news and his reaction tells you everything you need to know about how the Dodgers feel going forward:

Yup, that’s the reaction of a man who realizes the Dodgers just became even heavier favorites to win the West. The Dodgers are now only +650 to win the 2018 World Series which actually lands them in 4th behind the Houston Astros at +400 and both the Boston Redsox and New York Yankees at +450.
