Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has found himself embroiled in controversy after allegedly sending a profane message to a New York Giants fan via his Twitter account.

However, Toney is now claiming that he was hacked and denies any involvement in the offensive outburst.

The incident unfolded when the Giants fan allegedly reached out to Toney via direct message, expressing nostalgia for former Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. In response, an audio message purportedly from Toney’s account was sent, filled with a barrage of profanities and dismissing the fan’s sentiment.

Toney’s alleged response stated, “You talk about I miss Daniel Jones? Well, let me tell you something, it’s actually Jones who misses me!” The audio message quickly made its way onto public platforms after the fan posted it.

Toney also allegedly attacked female Giants fans looks, based on screenshots shared on social media.

Toney has since come forward, asserting that his Twitter account was hacked and expressing regret for the incident. In a tweet, he wrote, “My apologies. I got hacked.”

While Kadarius Toney’s claim of being hacked may seem implausible to some, considering the content and the fact that the voice in the audio message bears a striking resemblance to Toney’s, he maintains his innocence.

This incident follows a tumultuous relationship between Kadarius Toney and Giants fans, as he failed to live up to expectations after being drafted in the first round in 2021. Subsequently, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a third-round pick and a sixth-round pick in 2022.

Toney also recently went on Instagram to send a mass message to Giants fans, while attacking Giants general manager Joe Schoen. Additionally Toney was also recorded on video giving the Giants the middle finger at a jewelry store.

It remains to be seen whether this incident will have any long-term repercussions for Kadarius Toney’s career or if it will be resolved as a case of a genuine hacking.
