Reports indicate that both of the alleged shooters at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade have been detained. The shooting broke out near Union Station towards the end of the parade on Wednesday, February 14.

While it’s unclear whether or not the person in the video below is definitely one of the shooters, it does show a man in a red jumpsuit in handcuffs being taken into police custody following the shooting.

Kansas City police say that both suspects have been taken into custody. Furthermore, neither of the suspects in the shooting have been identified at this time.

According to reports, the shooting has resulted in 10 people being shot, with 3 of them in critical condition and 1 reportedly passing away. Officials say that the other five are in serious condition, and one has non-life-threatening injuries.

“We need people to exit the area as quickly and safely as possible and avoid the parking garage in order to facilitate treatment of shooting victims,” police said in a statement following the shooting.

“Many of you have footage of many officers securing Union Station, they are working to provide for the safety of everyone inside Union Station and expedite care of those injured.”

A report from NBC News says that “officials believe the shooting is criminal in nature but is not initially believed to be terrorism.”

At the time of this publication, the NFL has yet to release an official statement addressing the tragic incident.

The Chiefs have said in a statement that all of their players, coaches, and staff members are safe and accounted for.

Given that the shooting occurred during an event celebrating a Super Bowl title, how American franchises conduct championship parades will forever be altered from this point forward, as it’s now another event that Americans will fear can end in a mass shooting.
