One month ago, the Kansas City Chiefs ended the 2024 NFL season by getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. In the month since, things haven’t exactly gotten better for the organization. Superstar tight end Travis Kelce has been surrounded by retirement rumors, although he shut those down. Pro Bowl guard Joe Thuney was traded to the Chicago Bears, and now breakout rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy has been arrested and charged with felony domestic violence.

Worth, Kansas City’s first-round pick in 2024 who caught 59 passes for 638 yards and scored nine touchdowns, was booked into jail Friday night by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office in Texas. He faces a charge of assault of a family or house member and impeding the breathing or circulation.

Police did not provide further details at this time

This marks the second straight season that a big-name Chiefs rookie has faced offseason troubles. Last year, wideout Rashee Rice fled the scene of a hit and run accident after racing a rental Lamborghini against a friend on a Dallas-area highway.

“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” Rice said in a statement posted to social media. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

As for Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs officials said they are aware of the arrest. But they did not offer any comments at this time.
