The Kansas City Royals Have New Heart-Attack Inducing Menu Item And We Need To Try It (For Science)

There is nothing — I repeat, nothing — quite as awesome as ballpark food.

Ice cream? Good. Ice cream out of a little mini batting helmet? Elite. You want a hot dog that stretches across multiple seats and has more topping than you can count? We got it!

But the Kansas City Royals, courtesy of food provider Aramark, may have taken things a bit too far with their latest offering.

Introducing the “Taste of the K Taco.”

It is an absolute monstrosity that features a charred hot dog wrapped in a cheeseburger quesadilla and topped with barbecue brisket, French fries, shredded romaine, pickled red onion, Sriracha Cracker Jacks and 816Sauce. It will be sold at Rivals Sports Bar in Section 250 beyond the right field stands.

What in the world…

Supposedly, the “taco” (loose term) contains all of Kansas City’s specialty food items rolled into one. But I can’t tell whether it sounds completely delicious or utterly disgusting.

I need to find out for myself…

Seven MLB Teams Introduce Incredible New Ballpark Menu Items

Surprisingly, the Royals did not say how many calories this bad boy contains.

They’re also not the only ones getting in on the fun. Aramark worked with seven MLB teams to create limited-time menu items.

Those items are as follows:

  • Burgh Bacon Sundae (PNC Park): Belgian pearl sugar waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, pretzels, caramel sauce, and house-made maple bacon.
  • Cajun Etouffee Nacho (Minute Maid Park): Kettle chips topped with shrimp, sausage etouffee, shredded cheese, and green onions with Cajun seasoning.
  • City Churri Sandwich (Citizens Bank Park): Smoked chicken thighs, cumin mayo, chimichurri sauce, and pico de gallo on a Liscio’s Bakery Brioche Roll.
  • Pig Mac (Fenway Park): Grilled cheese stuffed with mac and cheese, pulled pork, and bacon strips on sourdough bread.
  • Polar Pasta (Coors Field): Vanilla ice cream topped with donut holes, strawberry syrup, and mint.
  • The Mets’ropolitan (Citi Field): Reyka Vodka, Topo Chico Sabores Lime with Mint Sparkling Water, and blueberry liqueur served in a souvenir cocktail glass over ice.

Baseball is great. Baseball stadium food is even better. I need to try all of it.
