Kayla Simmons is quickly gaining ground on other athletes-turned-social media stars like Olivia Dunne, Paige Spiranac, and Paige VanZant. The former Division I volleyball star has had a huge last few months.
Not long ago, she was just another Instagram model, but her following has seemingly ballooned lately. She’s gone over one million followers on Instagram, quite the impressive total. And, she’s closing in on that number on TikTok, with 846k.

But, it wasn’t long ago that Kayla Simmons was a legit athlete. She starred at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia as a setter on the volleyball team. Stats for her senior year aren’t available for any Marshall players, but she had over 1600 assists in her first three seasons. Those are some serious numbers.
