Keenan Allen was arrested for DUI over the weekend
Keenan Allen, who signed with the Indianapolis Colts less than two weeks ago, was arrested for drunk driving in Indianapolis early Saturday morning. Video shows the veteran wide receiver literally stumbling out of the police station after being released.
According to reports, veteran NFL wide receiver Keenan Allen was taken into custody around 1 a.m. on August 30 after officers found his vehicle parked in a no-parking zone in downtown Indianapolis.
Officers observed signs of intoxication, and Allen was subsequently charged with two counts of misdemeanor Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated — one for having a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or above, and one for endangering a person. Both offenses are listed as misdemeanors.

When Allen was released from Marion County Jail around 3:49 p.m. that afternoon, a reporter was waiting for him and took video of the former Chargers and Bears pass catcher stumbling out of the jail and into a white Infiniti SUV.
The arrest came hours after Allen appeared in the Colts’ preseason finale against the Detroit Lions in which he caught one pass for 24 yards. Indianapolis signed Allen to a one-year contract on August 18 in an effort to bolster their wide receiver core that also includes Alec Pierce and Josh Downs.
The Colts issued a statement saying they were aware of the incident and gathering more information.
“We are aware of the incident involving Keenan Allen last night. We are in the process of gathering more information and have no further comment at this time,” the Colts’ official statement read.
In the past, the NFL has usually given two-or three-game suspensions to players who are found guilty of their first DUI offense as part of the league’s substance abuse policy.
Allen, has been in the NFL since the then San Diego Chargers drafted him out of the University of California in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Allen, a six-time Pro Bowler, has been one of the best wide receivers of his generation, as he’s caught 1,055 passes for 12,051 yards and 70 touchdowns.
