Kirk Herbstreit is the busiest man in sports from Wednesday to Sunday. The 54-year-old sportscaster calls two games in three days with a four-hour morning show in between.

Fortunately, he is getting paid a lot of money to do it and travels in luxury. As does his beloved golden retriever, Ben.

Ben has traveled all over the country with Herbstreit over the last few weeks. The adorable pup became a certified Emotional Support Animal shortly before his ninth birthday earlier this month and quickly became a household name.

He has even made his way onto the field before last weekend’s game in Athens, Georgia and got to enjoy some fresh-cut, perfectly-manicured grass before kickoff.

Ben is America’s dog at this point!

This will be his busiest week yet. It started with a flight to Baltimore on Wednesday.

Herbstreit will call Thursday night’s NFL game between the Bengals and Ravens. He and Ben will fly to Virginia on Friday. College GameDay will be live from James Madison University on Saturday morning.

The crew will then board a plane out to the Pacific Northwest.

Herbstreit will call Saturday night’s college football game between Oregon State and Washington before returning home on Sunday morning. Ben, of course, will be with him for the duration of the trip!

  • Cincinnati to Baltimore: 423 miles
  • Baltimore to Harrisonburg, Virginia: 135 miles
  • Harrisonburg to Corvallis, Oregon: 2,306 miles
  • Corvallis to Cincinnati: 2,011 miles

Ben and Herbstreit will cover 4,875 miles this weekend. More than 4,000 of them will come in less than 24 hours between the end of College GameDay and their return trip home on Sunday morning.

Even though Kirk Herbstreit loves what he does and gets paid a lot of money to do what he does, it can get lonely being on the road as much as he is during the fall. Having Ben around helps! What a trooper!
