NFL Network personality Kyle Brandt professed to Vanna White that she was his “boyhood crush” while appearing on Wheel of Fortune. The pre-taped episode airs Wednesday night at 9 PM ET.

Brandt teased that appearance on the classic gameshow with his pre-spin introduction.

“Pat, I’m thrilled to meet you,” Brandt said. “But Vanna, let’s just put the cards on the table. I say this respectfully, you’re a TV legend, my wife is here, but you were my boyhood crush. I love ya. For many years of my life, you were the puzzle I wanted to solve.”

“I love you, Pat, but this is a Vanna show.”

Followers online were quick to react on social media. Some applauded him for shooting his shot.

“What a line.”

“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

“If you’re going to be a bear, be a Grizzly. Way to go ALL in.”

“Rizz Brandt.”

Others, however, found the interaction a bit cringey.

Getting back into gameshow mode, he then asked the Wheel of Fortune legend if she had any advice before he began playing. Vanna White gave a gave a great response, while reminding Brandt to focus on the board, not the co-host.

“Well, thank you for those kind words. Buy vowels. Pretend like you’re in your own living room, not here. Concentrate on the puzzle board, not me!”

Brandt’s television experience is broad, having starred in reality TV and soap operas prior to his stint on NFL Network. Days of Our Lives and The Real World: Chicago are included in past affiliations. Since 2016, though, he’s been a member of the Good Morning Football set.

He can now add gameshow contestant to that lengthy list.
