Los Angeles Lakers star Kyle Kuzma is feeling the wrath of the internet after claiming hand sanitizer is a conspiracy, a “hoax” and “doesn’t work.”

According to the 24-year-old Kuzma, that hand sanitizer that everyone is treating like pure gold these days is nothing more than a conspiracy for companies to make more money at our expense in a time of crisis and that it doesn’t really work to stop the spread of germs.

Posting on his Instagram Story, Kuzma showed a bottle of Purell hand sanitizer to his 4.7 million followers with the caption, “Now y’all finally finding out companies been taking money from us for years. This don’t work.”

That is certainly interesting timing considering Kuzma and his Lakers teammates have been told to self-quarantine after four players on the Brooklyn Nets, including Kevin Durant, tested positive this week.

As one might expect, reactions to Kuzma’s statement were not in his favor and even made it to the front page of Reddit.

Apparently, Kuzma is taking a page from the book of “Stupid Things to Say in Times of Crisis” from his rumored girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens who was forced to apologize on Tuesday after a rant in which she said, among other things, “Like, yeah, people are gonna die, which is terrible but, like, inevitable?”
