  • The market for Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson is heating up.
  • Falcons tight end posted and then deleted a tweet that some believe is a hint about where Watson is heading.
  • Both Watson and Pitts are represented by the same agent, adding fuel to the fire.

Kyle Pitts, the star tight end on the Atlanta Falcons who shares an agent with Deshaun Watson, posted and deleted a tweet that some believe is a sign that the embattled Houston Texans QB is heading to Atlanta. Pitts and Watson also share an agent with cornerback Casey Hayward, who also just signed with the NFC South franchise.

Pitts’ tweet comes after reports that both the Cleveland Brown and Carolina Panthers were notified that they were out of the race for Watson, the 26-year-old former Heisman Trophy winner that sat out the entire 2021-22 season due to “numerous criminal complaints and 22 different civil cases alleging sexual misconduct and sexual assault during massage sessions.”

Last Friday, a grand jury declined to indict Watson on any charges related to the allegations, which has since sparked serious interest from multiple NFL teams such as the Browns, Panthers, and Falcons.

After Pitts’ tweet started getting attention, the 21-year-old tight end tried to act as though he was tweeting about Heyward’s signing. Despite this, most NFL fans didn’t believe him.

Given all of the progress that’s been made it recent days, it feels increasingly likely that Watson is dealt before the end of the week.

During his five-year NFL career thus far — remember, Watson didn’t play a single snap this year — the Clemson University product has completed 67.8% of his passes for 14,539 yards, 104 touchdowns, and 36 interceptions, while also rushing 307 times for 1,677 yards and another 17 TDs.
