The Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta issued a statement saying they do not condone the actions of a skier in a video showing the aforementioned skier go full send off a jump and smack into the chair lift which sends them sideways as they careen through the air.
Dan Markham, a spokesman for the resort, said “we have terrain parks for those kinds of things. We also have a mountain competitions that were held that weekend, last weekend, as well, for people to be able to do things in a safe environment.” Obviously there are terrain parks, Dan, but sometimes a skier just has to go full send in order to remind themselves what they’re capable of.

The skier, Ivan Jones, is from Idaho and according to the Calgary Herald and managed to make it out with only minor bruises.
His video was viewed 2+ million times on Instagram but has since been marked as ‘sensitive’ which seems like a bit of a stretch for a video where a skier jumps and collides with the chair. This alternate angle was shared a week ago as well.
While the resort hasn’t loved the coverage his videos keep racking up views…
