Things got ugly in the second quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

The team ended up sending Rudy Gobert home after he threw a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson.

They exchanged words with one another until Gobert threw a punch at Anderson. It landed on his arm and looked more like a shove. But it was a punch, regardless.

Now, we finally know what led to the physical altercation. Super lame trash-talk.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Rudy Gobert threw a punch after basically being told to do his job. Here he is explaining what transpired on the sideline on Sunday.

If that’s true, then that might just be the lamest reason to throw a punch at somebody. Who in their right mind would get that upset about that?

NBA fans aren’t sure if they believe this banter or not. They share their reactions to the trash talk in question.

Just a brutal day for the Timberwolves.

That was such a bonkers trade.

Maybe more information will be released in the coming days. Rudy Gobert was sent home, which made him unavailable for the postgame press conference.

Additionally, the Timberwolves claim they are handling the situation internally. So, a potential punishment could be in line for Gobert.

Keep a close eye on Minnesota, as their playoff journey is off to a rocky start.
