Landon Donovan Explains His Absolute Disaster Of A Hairline At UEFA EURO 2024

While the play on the field has been plenty entertaining, perhaps the biggest story from the first week of UEFA EURO 2024 is whatever the heck is going on with Landon Donovan‘s hairline.

The U.S. soccer legend is part of a lead broadcast team with legendary commentator Ian Darke. But all anybody can talk about is his seemingly absurd balding that left him looking like an absolute disaster.

Donovan has always been follically challenged, dating back to his days as a player. But it’s not worse than ever, and it’s even crazier considering that he knew he was going on national television.

As it turns out, there’s a good reason for Donovan’s hair (or lack thereof) looking as bad as it does.

Mike Magee, a former teammate of Donovan with the LA Galaxy of Major League Soccer, texted Donovan to say “LD check your twitter asap and maybe fire you barber.”

It was a very friendly piece of advice. But apparently one that Donovan was already aware of.

“Where were you seven hours ago???,” Donovan responded. “Had a hair transplant procedure two weeks ago and was told it wouldn’t show up on camera.”

To which Magee replied, “Who told you that (Mexican national team rival) Rafa Marquez?!”

Owned.

Donovan then told Magee that he deserved the ridicule.

While he could be joking, a hair transplant would make a lot of sense. It would explain the blotchiness of Donovan’s hair and why he seemingly has more hair than he did at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

But you do have to question the timing of it all.

Why would he not have the procedure sooner? Or wait until after the tournament ends.

Either way, he had one thing right. He does deserve the ridicule because my man’s hair is an absolute nightmare.
