Knox Kiffin, the son of Lane Kiffin, picked up his first Division-I scholarship offer after a really strong showing at SMU’s college football recruiting camp over the weekend. A second offer came not long thereafter.

And he only just finished the eighth grade!

Knox (named after Knoxville) is a quarterback just like his father. He is a Class of 2028 prospect and will have his choice of where he wants to play on the next level if his current trajectory continues. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound righty is already making serious waves as a 14U player.

Mississippi College gave Knox his first offer not long after he turned heads in Tupelo at a 7-on-7 tournament in April. Now two months later, the rising signal-caller has three!

Mustangs head coach Rhett Lashlee was the first Division-I and “Power Four” head coach to present him with a scholarship for four years from now. Former Houston and Miami quarterback D’Eriq King is the QBs coach in Dallas. He was actually the one who gave Knox the call.

The reason for the offer was pretty simple.

Lane and Layla’s youngest son went down to Texas and dropped dimes. One particular throw in particular made an already no-brainer decision even easier. It was eye-popping!

Knox delivered an absolute dime down the sideline into tight coverage for the touchdown. The pass landed just beyond the reach of the defensive back in coverage, right on top of the near pylon. You literally could not ask for a better throw. King would not want him to throw that ball any other way.

One day later, Knox got his second call from a D-I school. Arkansas State became the third program to offer him a scholarship before he even gets to high school. He’s that good already!

Obviously, the last name is part of the deal here. However, even if Knox Kiffin wasn’t the son of Lane Kiffin, he would be racking up offers based singularly on his wicked arm!
