Lane Kiffin is a showman who is unapologetically himself. He knows when the camera is on and he always knows how to provide the perfect soundbite.

That was the case on Saturday morning as Ole Miss gears up to face No. 1 Alabama.

Here’s the thing. Nick Saban has never lost to one of his former assistant coaches but there is a lot of hype around what the Rebels have cooking in Oxford.

Many people believe that Kiffin has a chance to break that winless assistant streak this year. Kiffin would call that rat poison.

As he gears up for the road game against the nation’s top team, the 46-year-old is trying to keep his team humble. He doesn’t want to get too high on themselves only to go in, play flat and get beat down by the Tide.

ESPN’s Laura Rutledge spoke with Kiffin at the team hotel in Tuscaloosa on College Gameday and it resulted in a hilarious interview.

Kiffin joked that it would be a big deal for “little Ole Miss” to pull off the upset. Rutledge laughed and asked if he heard him correctly.

She did. Kiffin made reference to how Dabo Swinney calls his program “Little Ol’ Clemson,” joking that if Swinney says it and beat Alabama, maybe he should give it a shot.

Will it work? Can Little Ole Miss beat Alabama? We shall see.
