Two-time Daytona 500 winning crew chief turned analyst Larry McReynolds does not like 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports filing an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR.

In fact, the 65-year-old who has worked with such racing legends as Dale Earnhardt and Davey Allison, loudly disagrees with it.

On Wednesday, McReynolds, now a NASCAR analyst for Fox, raged against the lawsuit on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

“We’ve got an organization that’s been here not even four years that all of a sudden is saying ‘we gotta change the way NASCAR’s run,'” racing reporter Brett Winningham reports McReynolds said. “I’m all about change. Change is what makes you better.

“But you know what? When I see Richard Childress, Jake Roush, Rick Hendrick, and Joe Gibbs that’s been here longer than some of these guys have been pooping yellow … and they signed off and said this is good … we’re okay.

“There’s things we don’t like about it but we’re going to do what’s best for the sport and best for our business. And they signed off on it and these people that have been A. either not competitive or only been here for four and a half years have been saying the way we’ve done business for 76 and a half years is wrong.”

Larry McReynolds also took aim at the statement made by 23XI Racing announcing the lawsuit.

“It’s a hideous statement in my book”, McReynolds exclaimed. “He used the word unfair… what do you mean unfair? Could you clarify a little bit on unfair?

“Things that NASCAR has done over the last decade is about as fair as fair could be to all parties involved. Including our fans. Competitive. We’ve had 18 different flippin’ winners this year. Come on. Come on with the competitive.”

Denny Hamlin, who races for Joe Gibbs while at the same time co-owning 23XI Racing with Michael Jordan, spoke to reporter Kelly Crandall of RACER and defended the antitrust lawsuit, saying, “I didn’t realize until re-investing the money that I’ve made as a driver back into the sport to put on a show for Jim France and NASCAR, how unfair this whole system is. I didn’t realize they would exercise the power that they did in an unfair manner, in my opinion, and we just got to a tipping point where we all said, enough is enough and let’s exercise some options.”
