Leave it to LaVar Ball to schedule to schedule the opening night of his new JBA League during the same time as the NBA Draft. It now makes sense why his last name is Ball. Because he’s got massive ones.
The Junior Basketball Association is officially underway–the eight-team professional league offers high school and junior college players an alternative to college basketball. Current JBA players, many of whom never had the opportunity to play D-1 ball, will reportedly be paid $3,000 per month as well as 60% of jersey sales.
Black curtains covered empty top sections at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario as about 1,000 spectators showed up to watch the Los Angeles Ballers secure a win over the New York Ballers by a modest score of 134-124. LaMelo Ball’s stat line: 40 pts, 11 reb, 9 ast, 3 stls.
Meanwhile, the JBA is underway. A very empty stadium for the first game of the night. 😳😳 pic.twitter.com/V03PtVS3Nf

LaVar Ball was introduced by the public address annoucer as “Mr. LaVar Ball” and addressed the sparse audience in a black suit and Lakers-purple tie emblazoned with three golden Bs, the LA Times reports.
“They said nobody’s coming to this,” Ball said. “Everybody here is somebody. Nobody here is nobody.”
Pro Tip: If you confuse them enough, maybe they’ll forget they’re sitting in an empty stadium.
I watched 5 minutes of the JBA league with Lamelo Ball. It is single handedly the WORST basketball I’ve ever seen in my life.

Hey, give it time. Or don’t.
