LeBron James does not seem happy that the Lakers missed out on acquiring Kyrie Irving.

On Sunday, it was announced that Irving had been traded to the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster deal.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnorawski, the Lakers had tried to trade for Irving but eventually got outbid by the Mavs,

The Lakers and Nets discussed possible Irving deals on Friday and Saturday, but ultimately the Mavericks’ package gave the Nets a better chance to surround Kevin Durant with players now — as well as the opportunity to acquire three draft picks, sources said.

The Nets had been looking at three-way deals involving the Lakers before discussions with the Mavericks came together fairly quickly Sunday afternoon, sources said.

Woj had previously reported that LeBron had been pushing the Lakers to trade for Irving.

Irving has not given the Nets a list of preferred destinations, but there is strong mutual interest between him and the Lakers that goes back to the summer.

LeBron James is an immense proponent of making a deal for his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate, and the Lakers are operating as a motivated suitor for Irving, sources said.

After the trade was made official, LeBron appeared to share his frustration on Twitter.

Fans had hilarious reactions to LeBron’s tweet.
