The Los Angeles Lakers have won two of their last three games and all of a sudden the NBA world is supposed to forget just how bad this team has been all season.
Two weeks ago Magic Johnson ripped this team, specifically Russell Westbrook, but is now back to thinking this team could make some noise in the postseason. Then you have the oh so humble LeBron James, who is “literally having the time of my life” while the Lakers are 31-41 on the season.
James made that statement after his triple-double in the Lakers’ win over the Cavaliers on Monday night.
“I’m literally having the time of my life right now. The game’s such a beautiful thing,” James told the media in Cleveland.
LeBron is leading the league in scoring averaging 30 points per game, so there’s no denying he’s having fun out on the court, but he also needs to read the room and maybe keep those thoughts to himself.
The Lakers are an absolute dumpster fire, and have been for the entire season.
Los Angeles has won two of its last three but also lost six of its last nine games overall.
This is a team that is 10 games under .500, has gone on seven separate streaks of losing three or more games in a row, and is flirting with falling outside of the play-in tournament in the Western Conference.
LeBron Doesn’t Care About The Narrative Of His Bad Lakers Team
James has apparently reached “that point” of his career where none of that matters to him anymore.
“I couldn’t care less what the narrative about our team is,” James explained after Monday’s win. “At my point in my career, I don’t get involved in that stuff. I don’t read about it, I don’t hear it too much. None of that stuff matters to me, I’m having a blast playing the game of basketball.”
Clearly, LeBron James is only worried about LeBron James, which at the end of the day you can’t really blame him given how horrible the rest of his team has been this season.
