Leonard Fournette Slid Into My DM’s Yesterday To Remind Me That He Crushed His Interview On ESPN’s ‘First Take’

Whether you are a fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars or not, you have got to feel for a guy like Leonard Fournette. All the talent in the world and an absolute powerhouse of a running back with nothing to show for it year in and year out. The Jaguars have consistently been one of the worst teams in the NFL for years and really haven’t shown any sign of life or promise outside of their 2017 playoff run. In 25 total years as a franchise, they have made the playoffs just seven times and just once since 2007.

Fournette made the mistake yesterday of going on ‘First Take’ where he was absolutely blindsided by some pretty brutal questions from hosts Max Kellerman and Stephen A. Smith. Usually, in these interviews the hosts tend to give you some lay-up questions such as ‘are you excited for the upcoming season?’ Or something like, ‘what can we expect out of your team in the upcoming season?’ Unfortunately for Fournette, that was not the case.

Leonard took a seat and launched his Skype session and Kellerman and Smith immediately came out swinging with the question of ‘have you ever thought about leaving Jacksonville?’ He was clearly caught off guard and did a pretty good job of deflecting these questions to keep the interview moving on to some easier questions.

I just so happened to be midway through a bowl of Frosted Flakes during this and had to take out my phone to record it as I’ve never seen Smith and Kellerman come out swinging like they did. What makes me love Fournette even more than I already did was his response to my story that I tagged him in.

It was five minutes after the interview that I received a DM from the star running back that simply read “I killed that shit.” Which in his defense, he’s right, he did hold his own against some pretty harsh questions and felt the need to let me and anyone else who saw the interview that he did indeed “kill that shit.”

I think Fournette is about to take this newfound anger he now has for ESPN and take it all out on the next linebacker that meets him in the A-gap during Week 1 of the NFL season.

For you fantasy football players out there, I highly recommend not taking that DM from Fournette lightly and try to steal him in the first round of your fantasy football draft. We all need a little bit of that Leonard Fournette “I killed that shit” mentally on both our fantasy teams and in life itself. Never change Leonard, never change.
