College basketball folk hero Sister Jean is the lifeblood of Loyola-Chicago. The 105-year-old superfan rarely misses a game and loves her Ramblers almost as much as she loves the Lord.

However, her team left her hanging during a heartbreaking viral video after a blowout win over Eastern Michigan earlier this week. It was so, so sad.

In the video, three different players walked right by Sister Jean as she extended her arm in search of a fist bump. They completely ignored their biggest supporter as they walked back toward the locker room.

Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt, born on August 21, 1919, serves as a religious sister of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the chaplain for Loyola’s men’s basketball team. She first rose to fame during the Ramblers’ remarkable Cinderella run to the Elite Eight of March Madness in 2018.

Now five years later, Sister Jean continues to be one of the best stories in college hoops. God often answers her very-specific, analytics-driven prayers and Loyola is once again expected to compete for an Atlantic 10 conference title. However, the Ramblers’ chances of winning were completely squashed when they refused to acknowledge their Chaplin on Tuesday. They initiated the ‘Curse of Sister Jean.’

Fortunately, the team immediately reversed the curse after getting crushed online for their fist bump failure. It released an amazing video on Thursday that made sure to give Sister Jean the love she deserves.

God was not going to allow for Loyola to have success this season after the players left her hanging. Their intentional overcorrection will put the Big Man Upstairs back in their corner. Bygones are bygones. One of the most upsetting moments of the year has been properly addressed and corrected. Sister Jean loves her guys and the guys love Sister Jean!
