A viral photo on social media appears to show a fake quote on the video boards at the college football facility in Baton Rouge. It appears as though LSU chose to motivate its players ahead of its game against Kentucky with fabricated “bulletin board material”.
I have not been able to confirm whether or not the photo is real but the original poster continues to insist that it is.
Either way, the viral image raised a lot of eyebrows in the college football community. People are talking.
LSU motivates its college football players on the video board.
Lane Kiffin is always looking for new ways to get an edge, like the infamous jersey heist prior to the Egg Bowl last season— which most people now seem to think was staged. The fake Penn State account in 2023 is another example.
Kiffin also loves to motivate his players through bulletin board material.
Most simply put, “bulletin board material” is an insulting remark or dismissive comment that comes from an opposing team (or the media). Coaches and/or players physically or metaphorically pin the perceived slight on the bulletin board in the locker room. The team then uses the external disrespect as extra fuel to inspire anger and drive. It can either be real or manufactured.
The Tigers use a little bit of both. Whatever suits them best.
Ole Miss wide receiver Deuce Alexander said the Magnolia Bowl was going to be a “bloodbath.” Although he used the wrong terminology in the greater context of what he actually was trying to say, he did say “bloodbath.”

Princewill Umanmielen: “They’re on the opposing side. Ain’t no friends on the field.”
Deuce Alexander: “Business has to get taken care of. After, we can be friends.”

LSU put his quote on the video board throughout the week to light a fire under the players.
This is a recurring theme in Baton Rouge. Kiffin has used bulletin board material whenever possible throughout his entire coaching career.
Is it a fake quote from Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchey?
LSU will travel to Kentucky on Saturday. The Tigers are ranked No. 10 in the country. The Wildcats are coming off of an incredible comeback win at 4-1. It’s going to be rocking at Kroger Field.
In an effort to get his players excited, Lane Kiffin apparently resorted back to the video board. An account on X, @LaneKiffinLvr, posted a photo of the team facility. He (or she?) claims the photo posted on X is real. (I cannot confirm or deny!)
@LaneKiffinLvr’s photo shows a quote from Kentucky quarterback Kenny Minchey the video board.
The image of Minchey is real. I found it on Getty Images.

The quote is not real. Minchey did not say that “LSU’s defense hasn’t seen anyone like us and our offensive line yet.” He was only available to the media on Saturday after the win over South Carolina. At no point did he mention the next opponent.
If the photo posted by @LaneKiffinLuvr is real, the bulletin board material is not. It’s a fake quote.
