Luka Doncic nearly landed on the bad side of NBA bettors by drilling a meaningless shot at the end of the Mavericks-Kings game on Wednesday. The basketball star heaved a full court shot at the buzzer with his team leading by four points.

The shot miraculously went in, touching nothing by the bottom of the net. Luckily for those that backed Sacramento, the three-pointer didn’t count.

We’ll lay out the scene in the final seconds of the Kings-Mavs matchup.

Following a pair of free throws from Sacramento guard De’Aaron Fox, the Kings found themselves down 123-119. A couple of missed jumpers on their next possession all but sealed the Kings’ fate.

It also appeared to cash any Sacramento +6 wagers that were placed before the start of the game. NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND!

After pulling down that final rebound with just two seconds remaining, Luka Doncic heaved a meaningless three-point attempt from the other end of the floor.

Somehow, the shot went in.

That three points would quickly change those Kings +6 winners into heartbreaking losers with a seven-point Mavericks victory.

Luckily for Sacramento backers, that final shot came just after the buzzer. Crisis averted.

Fans were quick to comment on the ridiculous shot and near disaster for NBA bettors.

One person wrote, “Didn’t count, but also why you always buy points!” Another said, “They better count that basket, I don’t care if it’s after the buzzer.”

Making things even more interesting, the over/under was set at 243 points. Had the full court shot counted, the total would’ve finished at 245.

Luka Doncic gave NBA bettors a scare with his late game antics, but in the end both the under and the Kings cashed.
