17-year-old darts prodigy Luke Littler won the Premier League Darts title this season and capped it all off with an incredible 9-darter in the Premier League playoff final against Luke Humphries who would later express issues with the conditions during the match.

Luke Humphries was quick to congratulate his opponent and didn’t intend to take anything away from Luke Littler‘s incredible performance and championship title that came with a $350,000 grand prize. But Humphries also said he was struggling mightily with “wind” on the indoor stage…

Before we get to the quotes after the darts match, let’s check out that incredible 9-darter from Littler:

After the playoff final match against Luke Littler, Humphries told GBNI was trying to stick in there – there was a massive breeze coming across the stage all night and it’s so hard to deal with. It’s credit to Luke, he managed it all night so well. When I went to the break 5-5 I had stuck in there. But then all of a sudden the breeze stopped and he’s played much better – he’s such a fantastic player, he really is. I think me and Luke are the two greatest players in the world at the moment and this was another great battle.

Now that the Premier League Darts season is over, the world’s best darts players are headed to NYC. They’ll be competing against America’s best next weekend at The Theater at Madison Square Garden where I saw Phish receive a Lifetime Achievement Award years ago at The Jammy Awards.

It’ll be an incredible venue for darts on the 31st and 1st and any New Yorkers looking to throw back some pints and cheer on their fellow Americans competing against Britains best would be wise to hit up the MSG Theater.

The fact that Luke Littler won the Premier League Darts title at just 17 years old has confounded many. There was a conspiracy theory surrounding him for a while where people suggested he’s older than he says he is. Obviously, he is who he says he is and this is an incredible moment for the future of darts but the conspiracies ran rampant for a minute when he burst onto the scene.
