As could be expected, Marcus Freeman arrived to the College Football National Championship with a fresh fade. The head coach at Notre Dame is always lined up for game day and the biggest night of his career was not the exception.

His haircut was on point!

For those who are not familiar, a fade is a type of haircut. It’s pretty self-explanatory. The sides and the back are trimmed so that the hair gradually changes in length from the longest around the top to the shortest at the hairline. There are different variations of the cut, but the hair fades in/out depending on whether you are looking from top to bottom or bottom to top.

Marcus Freeman always looks fresh!

Freeman’s haircut first went viral at his introductory press conference in South Bend more than three years ago. It continues to be a topic of conversation that comes up more often than you might think.

Even James Franklin made a quip about his hairline prior to the semifinal earlier this month.

Sure enough, Marcus Freeman did not disappoint upon arrival to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the national championship. He either found time for a quick trim on Sunday night or hit the barber as soon as he woke up on Monday because it was as slick as ever.

Fresh and clean.

Julio Rodriguez is the go-to licensed barber for the entire Notre Dame football team. He is only 28 years old!

As of 2019, Rodriguez was operating ‘Julio’s Cutz’ out of his parents’ basement on the southwest side of South Bend. His business took off shortly thereafter, which allowed him to open ‘Exclusive Studios’ approximately 15 minutes from Notre Dame Stadium.

It is unclear if Rodriguez travels with the Fighting Irish on the road, but the team traveled from South Bend to Atlanta on Friday. For Marcus Freeman’s fade to hold up as well as it did four days later is a testament to his barber.
