Former pro running back Maurice Jones-Drew took a hilariously long pause after his NFL Network co-host, Chris Rose, made an accidentally lewd remark.

The comment was made on the “Gameday Final” broadcast while recapping the Chiefs’ win over the Dolphins.

Kansas City displayed defensive dominance in the playoff victory, holding Miami’s potent offense to just seven points. That included a scoreless second half, giving Patrick Mahomes and Co. an opportunity to pull away.

Highlighting the strong performance, Rose asked his co-host if the unit could lead the team on a Super Bowl run. Unfortunately, a very poor choice of phrasing led to a comical pause from Maurice Jones-Drew.

“This is far and away the best defense that Patrick Mahomes has had,” Rose said. “Is it possible that they can ride the ‘D?'”

“The defense,” he quickly clarified upon seeing MJD’s response.

The noticeable pause quickly went viral on social media, and Rose decided to play along with the joke.

He posted a message online after seeing the on-air gaffe trend.

“When you leave your dude hanging on the set, you will get this look,” he replied. “Should have said DEFENSE!”

While the wording to Rose’s praise was certainly questionable, the analysis was on point. The Chiefs held Miami to its lowest scoring output of the year, and while weather played a part in that dominance, Kansas City surrendered just 264 total yards in the 26-7 win.

That defense now awaits its next foe as it looks to keep the momentum rolling.
