Thursday night’s contest between the Browns and the Steelers had one of the wildest endings in recent memory but it had nothing to do with a last-second score, as Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph got into it before the defensive end decided it would be a good idea to rip off the quarterback’s helmet and swing it at his head.

It’s safe to say Rudolph’s teammates were not pleased with the development, as they quickly jumped in to intervene—including Maurkice Pouncey, who threw a number of punches at Garrett before kicking him once he hit the ground.

Pouncey was one of three players who were eventually ejected from the game once the dust settled, which was an essentially meaningless punishment when you consider there were only a few seconds remaining in the contest when things went down.

After the game, the center was asked about his reaction and said he “blacked out” while defending his quarterback and acknowledged he was prepared to face any additional punishment that was slated to come his way.

There’s no doubt Pouncey will be hit with at least a fine (if not a suspension) but Steelers fans are already prepared to come to his aid, as one man quickly set up a GoFundMe with the goal of raising $50,000 to pay off any monetary discipline the Steeler ends up facing.

Here’s what the description says:

Browns Defensive end Myles Garrett (scumbag) assaulted Mason Ruldoph following a scrum when Garrett threw Rudolph to the ground late on a pass with 8 seconds left. He hit Rudolph with his helmet after he ripped it off his head.

Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey jumped into the action to defend his QB and surely will be fined an unreasonable amount. So SteelerNation let’s raise as much as we can to help Pouncey for doing the absolute right thing.

As of this writing, 13 people had contributed a total of $220 and all of the money raised will be donated to an unnamed charity if Pouncey declines to accept the donations.
