Colm Dillane, founder of KidSuper, is living out his dream during this year’s World Cup.
Over the weekend, Dillane dropped a limited-edition McDonald’s x KidSuper collection, which combined his three loves: fashion, football, and fast food.
The McDonald’s x KidSuper collection is inspired by McDonald’s FIFA World Cup 26 campaign, featuring nine collectible cups featuring football legends and several limited-time meals.
Dillane, who played football in high school and college, spoke to us about what it means to him to partner with McDonald’s during the World Cup.
‘Honestly, it is a dream come true. Football has been a constant in my life way before any of this. My family moved around a lot when I was growing up, and I actually went to kindergarten in Mexico. I did not really speak the language at first, but football was the easiest way to make friends. You show up with a ball and suddenly you are part of something.”
“McDonald’s was always part of that world too. Postgame meals, hanging out with your team, the moments that stick with you long after the game ends. So doing this during the World Cup just makes it feel bigger because everyone is sharing that same excitement at the same time.”
“For me, the exciting part was taking those memories and turning them into a collection. It is not just about football itself, but everything that happens around it. That is what we wanted the clothes to capture, and now everyone can wear it and be part of it. It’s a celebration of the community and culture around football.”
Dillane unveiled the McDonald’s x KidSuper collection during the KidSuper Spring/Summer 2027 runway show at Miami’s Nu Stadium on Thursday.
According to Dillane, he worked with 50 different artists from around the world for his fashion show in Miami.
“It started with this idea of Resenha, which is a Brazilian word for everything that happens around football. It is not just the game itself. It is the conversations, the energy, the people you meet, the things that happen before and after the match.”
“That felt like the right starting point for the collection. We worked with over 50 artists from around the world, not to have everyone simply represent a country, but to bring their own perspective into one bigger conversation. The clothes became a way to show all of those different voices coming together.”
“Miami also felt like the perfect place for it because the city already has that energy. Fashion, sport, music, food, people from everywhere. That is what Resenha is to me. All those worlds meeting in one place.”
