While Marvel Studios’ forthcoming X-Men movie is still deep in development, the casting rumor mill is already up and running, as two rising stars have been linked to key roles in the film. According to recent rumors, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey is being eyed for Beast, while Marty Supreme actress Odessa A’Zion is being eyed for Rogue.

Furthermore, the MCU’s X-Men film will reportedly be taking a different approach to its roster than its Fox predecessors, as rumors indicate that the film will be featuring the original X-Men lineup of Cyclops, Marvel Girl (Jean Gray), Beast, Ice Man, and Angel. In addition to the rumors about Claffey and A’Zion, its been speculated that Sadie Sink will be making her debut as Jean Gray in this summer’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Marvel’s new X-Men film is being directed by Thunderbolts filmmaker Jake Schreier, with writers Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear) currently working on the script.

Despite how long Marvel has been developing the project, MCU fans shouldn’t expect it to release in the next couple years, as insiders are claiming that a new Deadpool movie will be the first project to be put in production after 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars.

That said, fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their X-Men fix, as 21st Century Fox franchise vets Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan, James Marsden, Kelsey Grammer, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, and Channing Tatum (who debuted in Deadpool & Wolverine as Gambit), will all feature in December’s Avengers: Doomsday.
