The Miami Dolphins brought back their awesome “Mountaineer shot” formation in their game against the Bengals.
The “Mountaineer Shot”, which was named play of the year at the 2019 NFL honors, was the famous play that saw punter Matt Haack throwing a touchdown pass to kicker Jason Sanders.
This time around Haack ran the ball into the end zone but the refs called the play back due to an illegal formation penalty after two offensive lineman failed to register as eligible receivers before the play.

The two rookies did not report as eligible, wiping away a Matt Haack touchdown run off a variation of "Mountaineer Shot." Weird play-calling sequence there, too, considering the Dolphins are not a good running team.

Here’s what the Mountaineer Shoot looked like a year ago when it was run succesfully.
