Plenty of sports teams have managed to rack up a sizeable tab while hitting the town to celebrate a championship, and the Panthers managed to do exactly that at a nightclub in Miami in the wake of their most recent Stanley Cup win. However, they didn’t end up footing a bill that added up to more than the price of the average house in the state they call home.

The Stanley Cup is typically awarded around seven months after the NHL kicks off the regular season, and it’s only natural that the players who earn the right to have their name etched on the side of the iconic trophy are going to want to let loose while taking a victory lap in the wake of the hard-fought battle that’s waged to claim it.

Those celebrations tend to devolve into what most people would refer to as a “bender,” as the booze starts flowing as soon as the winning team pops some bottles in the locker room and usually doesn’t stop until they cap off the festivities with a victory parade.

The Panthers ended the most recent NHL season by beating the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row to defend their title, and they quickly set the tone by rolling up to Elbo Room, a bar on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, just after the sun rose the following morning.

The team eventually headed up to Miami to keep the good times going and let loose at E11EVEN, the club where Brad Marchand appeared to have a very good time based on a clip that captured Aleksander Barkov dragging him away when he tried to go back in after they departed.

It’s safe to assume Marchand helped himself to a few drinks inside E11EVEN based on what Matthew Tkachuk had to say about the bill the Panthers managed to amass, saying they “were going to pay and realized, ‘Oh, that’s a $500K comp.”

Sam Reinhart chimed in to note “We’re treated pretty well there,” and that’s definitely one of the biggest understatements I’ve come across in recent memory.
