Michigan Fans Are In Full-On Meltdown Mode After Terrible First Half Against TCU In College Football Playoff

This was supposed to be the year for the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines entered the College Football Playoffs ranked No. 2 in the country with a perfect 13-0 record. They’d just won their second straight Big Ten championship and beat rival Ohio State in back-to-back seasons for the first time in two decades.

This was the year that the Wolverines get back to the top of the college football world for the first time since 1997.

Except, nobody appears to have told the TCU Horned Frogs. Michigan entered the Fiesta Bowl and College Football Playoff semifinal against the Horned Frogs at 7.5-point favorites. TCU, ranked third, was 12-1 but most recently lost the Big 12 title game to Kansas State.

The Horned Frogs’ stellar season was a great story, but surely this is where it comes to an end?

NOT SO FAST! TCU raced out of the gates and took advantage of a number of Michigan blunders to take a 21-6 lead into the half.  Wolverines’ fans were absolutely shell-shocked by the horrible first half and went into full meltdown mode on the message boards.

“Game one, they’re faster than us,” one fan said.

“Following the script for choking away the game,” said another.

But the meltdown didn’t stop there.

“We’re going to lose. I don’t think we took TCU seriously and thought we got the good draw. They’re dog walking us so far,” user MeanJoe07 said.

Then came the coping.

“Well awesome season ladies and gents. It was fun. We didn’t stand a chance against (Georgia) so whatever. Just a brutal brutal performance,” krs919 said.

Michigan fans did get a little shred of hope late in the half when kicker Jake Moody drilled a 59-yard field goal as time expired to cut the lead to 15.

So maybe not all hope is lost for the maize and blue.
