Miesha Tate To The Rescue! Former UFC Champion Carries Injured 6-Year-Old Girl Down Hiking Trail
ProTip: If you’re going to get injured while hiking and need someone to carry you back down the trail, best do so when Miesha Tate is in the area to save your ass. A 6-year-old girl named Kai broke her arm while hiking near Mount Charleston near Las Vegas and her parents were struggling to carry her. But lo and behold, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was there to save the day. Tate carried the little girl down the steep, 2.6-mile trail.
Tate shared details of her rescue mission on her Facebook:
Today a little girl broke her arm up at the top of Mary Jane falls (Mt Charleston) and I saw her meekly built mother struggling to carry her daughter down the mountain so I offered to carry the little girl to the bottom. The mother asked her 6 year old daughter “would you rather have me or her carry you down” without hesitation (to my surprise) she quickly replied “I want HER to carry me” we had to laugh. I preceded to carry the sweet little thing all the way to the bottom. Kai and I learned a lot about each other on the roughly 2 mile descent and It’s fair to say she inspired me. We made it all the way down without slipping or falling! We agreed we would both be strong for each other! Team work at it’s best!
The mother of the girl had this to say about the situation on her Instagram:
What a crazy, eventful, day! It started out as a fun hike up Mary Jane Falls, with the family, ended with Kai breaking her arm at the top of the mountain.. I’m SO beyond thankful for @mieshatate carrying her all the way down the mountain, there’s no way I would have been able to do it myself. Miesha, you are a true life saver and I can’t thank you enough for helping us out today! Kai is your newest #1 fan 💕
The husband of the mother of the girl said this on Instagram:
Such a crazy labor day weekend for our family but ended in such an amazing and beautiful way. My poor Kai broke her arm at the top of the Mary Jane Falls hike at Mt Charleston. So @mommapook and I basically had to carry her down miles ahead. To our rescue and assistance came the amazing @mieshatate the UFC fighter. She offered to help us carry her down the mountain. Such an amazing and humble person to have met. Our family cant thank you enough for all the help. You saved us easily hours of hiking and helped us get her to the hospital sooner. Thank you again 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 #mieshatate

Tear jerker! Meet Kai the sweet little girl that kept me company down the mountain side, very upbeat despite her broken arm. And I just have to say this was one of the most rewarding days of my athletic career. And I also want to make a point that I have been told many times that I am "too buff" or "manly" that I should stop lifting weights, that it's "gross" and not attractive for a woman. I am so happy I never listened to the limitations others wanted to put on me and I hope that our youth knows that don't have to conform. That strength and beauty come from within! #BeStrong #BeCapable #BeWhatYouWant #NoRegrets #JustLove #PayItForward #GiveBack #Inspire
I kind of want to break my arm to have Miesha Tate carry me everywhere.
