Mikayla Demaiter is taking her act international.
For those of you who don’t know Demaiter, now is as good a time as any to get to her know her.
The Canadian star is a former hockey goalie who switched to modeling after a career-ending injury.
“Dear Hockey, It is time to say goodbye,” she said in an Instagram post announcing her retirement. It is time to turn the page and move to the next chapter of my life, for the first time you will not be my number one focus,” she said in a retirement post in 2019. “I want to thank you for the places we’ve gone together. I also want to thank you for all the friends you have made me. My family sends their best as well. I know they will definitely miss seeing us together. I am excited for the future because everything you have taught me will allow me to succeed. There will still be early mornings, new adventures and new friends, and I hope that I embrace them with the same love and passion I did for you. Thanks again for everything.”
The decision to turn to modeling has paid off in a massive way.
Demaiter now has over 2.7 million followers on her Instagram account. That number is up a jaw-dropping 400,000 since just two months ago.
But it’s not hard to see why.
Demaiter flew to Paris for her latest viral Instagram post. This time, it featured pictures in front of the legendary Eiffel Tower with the caption “I took photos at a tourist attraction only to find out that I’m the main attraction.”
And honestly, she’s not wrong.
How many of you didn’t even notice the Eiffel Tower in the background?
Yeah, we get it.
Demaiter’s stardom is only continuing to grow, and it’s hard to see it slowing down anytime soon.
