Mike Clevinger finds himself in controversy this offseason amid some pretty serious allegations brought on by his ex-girlfriend, Olivia Finestead. The pair, who share a child, had a nasty split earlier this year.

Finestead recently aired some dirty laundry relating to the relationship, going public in an interview on a Chicago radio station.

In that segment, Clevinger’s accuser ripped her ex to shreds. She’s previously accused him of domestic violence.

Steve Greenberg of the Chicago Sun Times went into detail in a recent report of the interview.

Finestead painted a sordid picture of Mike Clevinger, accusing him of having ‘‘choked’’ her last June and taken her phone so she couldn’t call the police. She also described him as a drug abuser who drove a car while on acid with her and his two other children from another woman as passengers and as a serial cheater and abuser who is in need of ‘‘drug rehab and therapy.’’

Finestead also said she filed a police report against Clevinger after learning he intended to seek full custody of their child.

Finestead would go on to jab at Clevinger’s character, calling him selfish and a liar.

‘‘He’s just so full of himself and such a narcissist that he will deny, lie and project every day. That’s just who he is.’’

It didn’t take long for Mike Clevinger to bite back, and he went as far as to threaten to take legal action against the radio station.

‘‘It’s the world we’re living in. Everyone wants the clicks. It doesn’t matter what the real truth is. Everyone will stop and look at the car crash, but no one’s going to stop and smell the flowers. That’s how the world is. But that was really trashy of them. That was some lowlife material right there.

‘‘My lawyers are paying attention. My lawyers are getting in contact with them, and they probably already sent a cease-and-desist for defamation.’’

While he is being investigated by the MLB for the domestic violence allegations, he’s set to be a full participant in the White Sox spring training camp. Clevinger was picked up by Chicago after previous stints with the Padres and Guardians.
