The Dallas Cowboys may have run the worst play of the 2020 season on Thursday night.
In the fourth quarter of the Dallas-Washington Thanksgiving day game, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarrthy made the bold decision of busting out a fake punt on the team’s own 20-yard-line on 4th and 10 while down only four points that failed miserably.

Washington went on to score a few plays later to take a 27-16 lead and Cowboys fans were irate with McCarthy.
I cannot recall a great number of bewildering coaching decisions in a game where Mike McCarthy’s team is playing a close game with first place in the division on the line.

Mike McCarthy is right. He changed during his time away from football. He somehow found a way to get worse.

I’m thankful for the Cowboys hiring Mike McCarthy to demonstrate to the world how insanely good Aaron Rodgers in his prime must have been to make him look competent.

Update: McCarthy told the media that he felt the fake punt “was a good play call”.
