Mike Tyson is now 59-years-old, but it doesn’t sound like he has plans to stop boxing anytime soon. In two recent interviews, “Iron Mike” discussed fighting Floyd Mayweather and a possible rematch with Jake Paul.

Monday night, Tyson made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about his fight with Jake Paul, his first pro bout, the celebrities he has hung out with, and his new live show “Return of the Mike.” But first, they discussed Mike showing the world his bare backside in the locker room after an interview before his fight with Paul.

Mike Tyson and Jimmy Kimmel then discussed Mike’s boxing debut in March 1985 against Hector “Kid Dynamite” Mercedes. The “Kid” only lasted 107 seconds before being knocked out. Tyson admitted to Kimmel he was “scared to death” during the fight. In fact, he was so scared that he said he “100%” thought about backing out of the fight.

Mike Tyson still plans to continue fighting

In another recent interview with Hard Rock Bet, Mike Tyson was asked when a proposed fight with Floyd Mayweather will take place. He replied that he had no idea, but “maybe in March or April.”

As for how the fight came to be, Tyson again said he had “no idea,” just “Floyd wanted to fight me.” He also said he has no beef with Mayweather, and actually has a “pretty decent relationship with him.”

Further along in the conversation, Mike Tyson said he doesn’t foresee a discussed Lennox Lewis rematch happening. A Jake Paul rematch, on the other hand, is definitely something he wants.

“Big wheels keep moving, they don’t stop and I was really ill,” Tyson said about the fight with Jake Paul. “I didn’t want to use that for an excuse, but I had some real bad health problems, but I’m fine now. I have no excuses.

“I feel good right now, this is the best I’ve felt. I can’t wait to start getting in the ring. I learned [a lot] from my last fight. I left a lot of my fight in the gym. I worked too hard. I was too intense. I was too extreme. I need to relax more. That’s what I always believe. I need to relax more.”

He believes, knowing all of that, that he hopes after the fight with Floyd Mayweather, he can have a rematch with Paul.

“Yes, I would, I would be interested in that,” he said, adding, “He did well, but I want to try it again.”
