MiLaysia Fulwiley is reportedly close to making a transfer decision. The South Carolina basketball star hopped in the portal this spring after her second season in Columbia.
All signs point to a move within the Southeastern Conference. Fulwiley is trending towards joining the LSU women’s basketball team.
The point guard arrived at South Carolina with much fanfare. A 5-star recruit, she stayed in her hometown to rep the garnet and black.
Fulwiley landed a significant role with the Gamecocks as a reserve, landing Sixth Player of the Year honors in the SEC this past season. Across two campaigns, she averaged 11.7 points a night while providing a spark off the bench.
She helped Dawn Staley’s bunch play for back-to-back national titles. The Gamecocks brought home the hardware her freshman year before being beaten out by UConn this past season.
MiLaysia Fulwiley appeared in 76 games with South Carolina but made just three starts. She hopes to see an uptick in playing time at her next stop.
The guard’s recruitment has been heavily dissected over the last few months. Rumors and speculation have surrounded her pending commitment.
MiLaysia Fulwiley refuted “lies” about her decision to enter the portal.
She was once trending towards Ole Miss, a narrative that was quickly shot down by Rebels coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin earlier in the offseason.
Since, the storyline has shifted to another SEC school. Fulwiley was rumored to be visiting LSU. There were also whispers that her mom was shopping her around to the highest NIL bidder in the portal.
The rising junior rejected what she called “lies” about her transfer. She denied that money played a part in her decision to leave South Carolina. She also nixed those reports about a visit to Baton Rouge.
Hours after that denial, she posted a video to TikTok hinting at her next landing spot.

MiLaysia Fulwiley was seen dancing to popular song from rap artist Zeddy Will. His music falls into the category of “NOLA Bounce.”
Bounce music is a form of hip-hop with a super-fast, block party-style beat that has a similar sound to rap and EDM. However, it needs to have a Triggerman beat to be classified as bounce.
The tempo usually has 95 to 105 beats per minute and includes a brass band beat. As well, this style typically incorporates Mardi Gras Indian chants alongside call and response routines.
“Not she’s dancing to Louisiana bounce music,” wrote one follower of the cryptic post. “Does the NOLA bounce mean anything?” asked another.
Fulwiley has not made a decision publicly at the time of this writing. She refuted claims of an LSU visit on Wednesday before posting the Louisiana themed video to TikTok.
Most viewed it as the commitment before the commitment. We may know her transfer decision in the near future. Some already believe they do!
