South Carolina guard Milaysia Fulwiley entered the transfer portal with a ‘do not contact’ tag after her sophomore season with the Gamecocks. The former 5-star recruit plans to find a new home in Year 3.
Ole Miss is a school that’s been linked to Fulwiley over the last few days. Head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin doesn’t know why.
Fulwiley signed with the Gamecocks as the 13th-best player in the 2023 recruiting class, according to ESPN. She helped the program win a national title as a freshman. She played for another last season.
When on the court, she’s shined as an offensive threat. Fulwiley averaged 11.7 points per game in each of her first two campaigns. Her ball handling and ability to get to the rim are what make her dangerous.

Fulwiley was named Sixth Player of the Year in the SEC last year. She’s been a spark off the bench in each of her first two seasons. With that being said, she’s only made three starts across her 76 appearances.
Most expected her to again help the Gamecocks on another NCAA Tournament as a junior. That won’t be the case. She’s looking for a starting role. Another school will be the beneficiary of her transfer decision.
Milaysia Fulwiley will not transfer to Ole Miss…
At least according to Yolett McPhee-McCuin. The head coach clarified on her stance on the situation earlier this week.
This is fake news and I’m tired of y’all speaking on our name for no reason! Enough already https://t.co/FCmoNMeSVp

Rumors emerged linking Fulwiley to the Rebels after she hit the portal. Ole Miss was in the guard’s initial top group before her South Carolina commitment. Chatter heated up regarding a move within the SEC.
McPhee-McCuin says the rumors aren’t true. She’s not been contact.
Milaysia Fulwiley’s “do not contact” tag in an interesting one. Other schools cannot reach out without her initiating the conversation. Only Fulwiley decides who she speaks to. To reach out without permission is considered tampering.
The tag has often been used by players that already know where their next destination will be. The South Carolina guard has yet to release any intel in her recruitment.
At this point, Ole Miss seems like a longshot given Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s denial. It will be interesting to see where she winds up.
