With just 8 days until the Super Bowl, it is officially time for big bets to start rolling in,

It is the single game that attracts the most gambling action in this country every single year.

Despite that, things had been kind of quiet on the NFL betting front since we found out who would be meeting in Glendale next Sunday.

That changed today.

Today, BetMGM revealed on their Twitter account that they have received the first $1 million bet on the Super Bowl. That bet came in on the Philadelphia Eagles and if it wins, it will pay out $800,000 for the bettor.

The Eagles have been a popular bet since football fans learned who would be competing at Super Bowl LVII.

The spread on the game opened at Eagles -1 and has been bet as high as -2. The spread has come back down a bit to -1.5. According to BetMGM, more fans are currently betting on the Eagles to cover than the Chiefs in 16 of 17 states in the US.

The Eagles have covered in both of their playoff matchups so far this season and have coasted through the playoffs to the point.

However, the Chiefs will be the toughest challenge they have faced so far this season.

Still, all of the support so far for the Eagles likely means this won’t be the last big bet we see coming in for the NFC’s champion.

There will definitely still be plenty of interesting action rolling in as we continue to get closer to the biggest matchup of the year in American sports.
